Camp Description

YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee is a residential/day camp with a limited pre and post season for group camping and outdoor education located on a 61-acre peninsula on an inlet off Lake Guntersville and the Tennessee River.

Job Description

Responsible for managing the general operation of Camp Cha-La-Kee’s office. The Office Manager will handle incoming phone calls and other communication, managing files, updating paperwork and other documents and performing other general office duties and errands.

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Administrative and clerical experience preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Keep filing cabinets neat and orderly.
  • Receive calls, take messages and route correspondence.
  • Greet and welcome guests during office hours.
  • Manage internal database.
  • Communicate with the parents of campers.
  • Assist with camper registration/check-in for programs.
  • Record payment, check camper financial records and request payments from individuals with balances due.
  • Collect and maintain files by camp program for registrations, health forms, waivers and other paperwork submitted by participants. Confirm received forms and send reminders as needed.
  • Keep office equipment and supplies clean and organized for ease of use.
  • Keep the main camp office neat and welcoming.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Model the values of carrying, honesty, respect, and responsibility and provide/maintain an environment in which these values are evident to staff, members and program participants.
  • Ensure that a safe environment exists at camp.
  • Responsible for any other duties as assigned by the Camp Cha-La-Kee Executive Director.
