Job Description

The Vice President, Human Resource Operations is the primary leader for the human resource functional area. This individual must advocate for and model Y-USA core values, understand the organization’s strategic plans and work collaboratively across the People and Organizational Excellence leadership team. 

 

In close partnership with the Y-USA legal team, acts as lead in proactive staff relations ensuring the organization and its staff protect employee rights, defend employer responsibilities, minimize employment-related risks, and take actions in support of our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

 

This position provides vision, strategy, and human resources expertise for staff workforce issues at YMCA of the USA through direct operational responsibility for areas such as: talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll/HRIS, compensation and benefits.

 

This position offers a base salary of $179,300.00 up to $239,000.00. Final salary is determined by required qualifications, experience, and education for this role.

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in management, human resources, psychology or other relevant field required; master’s degree preferred or commensurate experience.

● Minimum 15 years of proven human resource generalist experience

● Demonstrated ability to direct resources toward the accomplishment of strategic objectives including coordination and implementation of systems, processes, policies and programs in support of organizational culture AND exceptional demonstration of the essential core human resource functions of compensation, benefits, employee development, employee/employer compliance, talent attainment and recruitment, and HR operations. Experience with HR Shared Services and HR Business Partner models is a plus.

● Demonstrated experience in human-centric change management where the status quo is challenged, new initiatives are championed and organizational effectiveness and efficiencies are gained.

● Demonstrated experience implementing policies, practices, procedures that empower a culture of fun, innovation and respect where diversity, inclusion and belonging are foundational.

● Proven ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints

● Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents

● Knowledge of best practices in the human capital field of work including HRIS systems, Applicant Tracking practices and organization-wide integration for modern efficiencies.

● Prior service within a not-for–profit organization is preferred.

● Superior ethics and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision-making in a complex organization.

● Excellent communications and analytical skills required

● Demonstrated record of courage and change advocacy; influencing skills using

partnership and collaboration.
