Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the District Vice President will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence, fostering innovative programming, and maintaining a strong connection with the community we serve.

The DVP must be mission-driven, highly collaborative and able to step into any situation with an eye toward improving organizational performance or community impact.

Participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business or a related field, or equivalent.
  2. Five or more years of management experience preferred, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  3. Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision
    of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations,
    and program development.
  4. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  6. YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
  7. CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.

Must be able to make effective presentations to top management, public groups, and board of directors

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure.

Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and be able to interpret data for effective decision-making 

Reasoning Skills:

Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and data and draw well-thought conclusions for effective decision-making and planning 

Office and Computer Skills:

Must be able to operate standard office and computer equipment

Must have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Must be versed in budgeting and financial software.

Essential Functions
  1. Operational Excellence:
    1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of two YMCA facilities, ensuring high standards of service delivery and member satisfaction.
    2. Collaborate with branch leadership to optimize facility resources and enhance operational efficiency.
  2. Community Engagement
    1. Develop and implement innovative programs that address the evolving needs of a growing and diverse community.
    2. Assess community needs and adjust program models accordingly to foster inclusivity and relevance.
  3. Fundraising:
    1. Lead fundraising initiatives to support the YMCA's mission and community outreach programs.
    2. Cultivate relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders to secure financial support.
  1. Team Building:
    1. Provide leadership and direction to branch staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
    2. Promote professional development and mentorship opportunities within the organization.
  2. Budget Management:
    1. Develop and manage budgets for both YMCA facilities, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to financial goals.
    2. Monitor financial performance and implement cost-effective measures when necessary.
  3. Ensures programs operate at the highest level of quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
    1. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the YMCA, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for members and staff.
  4. Leadership Team Collaboration:
    1. Work closely with the YMCA's leadership team to align district goals with the overall mission, vision, and values of the organization.
    2. Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  5. Other duties as assigned.
