Job Description

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking someone who is part teacher, part guardian, part administrative phenom and part programmatic innovator. That's a whole lot of parts! But our new Floating Program Director of Early Childhood Learning must be a lot of things to a lot of people. They must be a mentor and educator to the children they will oversee, they must be a communicator and trustee for the parents of those children, and they must be a flexible, responsible administrator and management expert for the good of their employees, co-workers and supervisors.

You are a youth development expert. You see the possibility of each child, and you work tirelessly to become their champion, mentor and fun-provider. You know that at the end of the day, all kids should have the opportunity to live to their full potential and you can't wait to help them do so.

Salary Range: $40,500-$45,000 plus a monthly driving stipend.

Qualifications

1. Must be Director qualified by the State of Colorado Department of Human Services Child Care division.

2. Minimum 2 years' experience working with Preschool-aged/Kindergarten aged children in a supervisory role

3. Minimum age requirements of 21

4. Must have reliable transportation to travel between the four YMCA of Northern Colorado Branches (Longmont, Johnstown, Mapleton and Arapahoe) *Monthly mileage stipend provided

5. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.

6. Ability to work with a wide range of age groups, demographics and have ability to collaborate well with a number of groups and individuals

7. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

8. Understanding of child development principals and developmentally appropriate practices, understanding of state licensed program, as well as experience with fiscal management and staff development.

9. Ability to meet YMCA driver requirements.

10.Ability and desire to embrace the mission of the YMCA.

11.Experience with Colorado Shines and Creative Curriculum is a plus.

12.Spanish language fluency is also a plus.

Essential Functions

If you can't tell, we have high hopes, high standards and high regards for this position.

That's because our Floating Program Director of Early Childhood Learning will be working closely with our Early Childhood Leadership Team to oversee and grow our programs. This position is split between administrative duties and teaching responsibilities at all four of our YMCA branches. This person will be a valuable asset to staff, as they will lead curriculum implementation development through direct engagement with staff in the classrooms. In addition, they will act as the on-site director substitute when the Senior Program Director or Site Director is not readily available or is on leave.

Salary

$40,500.00 - $45,000.00
