Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Operations and consistent with the mission of the Woodson YMCA, the Membership Director is responsible for operations, administration, and analysis of membership and supporting member service-related activities, functions, and staff. In addition, the Membership Director is responsible for providing excellent service for members and guests, and support of overall membership operations.


·Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, human services or other related field is preferred.

·2-3 years of leadership experience preferred.

·Demonstration of skills and experience in customer service, communications, and supervision.

·Experience in office/administrative support and computer knowledge is required.

·Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required and knowledge of Daxko membership software is of benefit.

·Demonstrated professionalism in both attitude and appearance.

·Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 60 days of employment.

Essential Functions

1.Build meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, guests, donors, and other staff and upholds Y policies and philosophy; use core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring in all interactions.

2.Utilize and become an Association expert in Daxko Operations to execute membership management.

3.Provides membership reports to Sr. Management and Board members. Analyzes membership trends/data, makes recommendations, and creates membership strategies.

4.Maintain timely, relevant knowledge of all Y programs and services to accurately answer member and guest questions.

5.Administer special membership programs such as corporate memberships, military memberships, and Insurance Reimbursements.

6.Oversee Community Supported Membership (CSM) program and provide weekly CSM appointments.

7. Actively participate in tour duty, staff trainings, professional development events, and Membership Committee meetings.

8. Provides leadership to the Membership Development Team to strategically plan for membership acquisition and retention.

9. Tracks Community Partner Campaign scholarships.

10. Attends and help prepare for mandatory special events and promotions.

11. Coordinates membership direct mailings (i.e. – new member welcome letters, returned payment letters, and membership promotions).

12. Monitors website to ensure all membership information is clearly communicated.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.
