Job Description

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Senior Program Director will plan, administer and evaluate the Camp and Aquatics departments.This position will also supervise the assistant program director of sports and teens as well as the assistant director of family programs. This position is primarily responsible for the design and implementation of the camp and aquatic programs as well as the successful achievement ofbranch revenue targets related to all departments under their leadership.

The Forsyth County Family YMCA is located in Cumming, GA.In addition to the 55,000 square feet facility, the YMCA operates its summer day camp at an offsite, 19-acre lakefront property.   • A Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Three (3) to five(5)yearsrelatedsales, marketingexperience, and program development.
  • Must have a background in staff team development and relationship management.
  • Seeks, cultivates and supervises volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Hands-on experience with utilizing data to make informed decisions.
  • Personal commitment to service and hospitality.
  • If internal to the YMCA, must have a minimum YMCA Team Leader certification.

Essential Functions

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the department programs and employees and volunteers.
  • Develop and implement a plan to attract and recruit new program participants and volunteers.
  • Conduct pilots for new programs; develop plans and manage best practices through engagement of the staff team.
  • Effectively manage budgets; hold staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress.
  • Foster a climate of innovation.
  • Monitor progress towards branch’s goals by running and reviewing all necessary reports.
  • Coordinates marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to the Executive Director on related issues.
  • Collaborate with the Association key departments to lead, coordinate and support implementation of key initiatives related to marketing, social media and communications, human resources and financial development.
  • Serves as a key staff leader to the annual fundraising campaign.
