Qualifications

·         Must be 21 years of age

·         Experience working with youth

·         RN preferred but not required, medical background required

·         Ability to live on site and in cabin during scheduled program times

·         Must be able to engage others in Conversations and make all feel welcome

·         Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations

·         Current First Aid, CPR, AED, BSL certifications or ability to acquire

·         Must have documented health/medical experience

Essential Functions

·         Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values

·         Respond and/or assist emergency situation within scope

·         Monitor, organize and ensure the safety of medications and supplies in Health Center

·         Oversee that medication, first aid, and supplies are dispensed according to written instructions

·         Maintain documentation detail of stored and dispensed supplies and medications

·         Maintain and submit records of incidents that come through the Health Center

·         Keep equipment and areas clean and organized at all times

·         Take the lead on orientation and training of weekly volunteer nurses

·         Oversee consistency of Health Center practices

·         Inventory and request supplies within area of scope

·         Alert Program Director when supplies are running low/repairs are needed in Health Center

·         Ensure the safety of all activity participants

·         Assist with camper behavior management and homesickness; redirect to Camp Life Specialist and/or Program Director if behavior continues/case is severe

·         Inform administrative staff of any camper or staff concerns

·         Ability to accept guidance and supervision

·         Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills

·         Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of YMCA Camp Piomingo

·         Other duties as assigned
