Salary: $25.00 - $37.00 Hourly

The Cross Island YMCA is seeking a qualified Personal Trainer who will recruit, design, and deliver safe, fun, dynamic, and effective personal training sessions, while also providing outstanding hospitality to ensure a positive user experience.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a health and fitness environment.
  • Current Adult CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • National Personal Training Certification (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM).
  • Orientation to Healthy Living at the Y.
  • Foundations of Listen First.
  • Knowledge of Principles of Member Health & Wellness.
  • Complete all required certifications.
Essential Functions
  • Design and deliver safe, fun, dynamic and effective personal training sessions, in person or virtually from the branch.
  • Provide outstanding hospitality to all members and guests.  Outstanding hospitality is acting as a proactive agent - initiating a professional relationship with the members in regard to their needs, concerns, and questions and acting as an agent to accommodate the member’s needs/concerns.
  • Recruit new clients and retain current clients.
  • Perform client assessments.
  • Schedule and coordinate client sessions in a timely manner.
  • Record and report sales and sessions to supervisors.
  • Be aware of current fitness programs and trends.
  • Maintain required certifications, tracked in Club Connect.
  • Utilize the app for scheduling as directed.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and designated meetings.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of branch emergency procedures and take appropriate action for emergency situations.
  • Support community and promotional special events as needed.
