YMCA: Illinois YMCA Youth and Government

Location: Villa Park, IL

Job Description:

The Board of Directors desires a candidate with the skills and vision to move the organization forward. The successful candidate's duties will include championing and communicating the organization's mission and relevance; being responsible for the organization's financial stability and growth which includes fundraising; engaging, communicating and collaborating with the Board of Directors, as well as the extensive network of volunteers, community, corporate and government leaders and organizations. Additionaly, oversee, develop and mentor staff, manage volunteers; and oversee the organization's day-to-day operations.

Minimum Criteria for Candidates:

  1. Accredited 4-year college degree.
  2. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission.
  3. Must have proven record of executive leadership, strategic planning and implementation, and developing and executing annual fundraising campaigns.
  4. Minimum three years prior experience in a management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of staff and employees.
  5. Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships.
  6. Have the ability to develop new programs, review and enhance programs being offered or considered for both economy and the effectiveness in broadening our engagement in the communities in which we serve.

Preferred Criteria for Candidates:

  1. Fiscally sound business management approach.
  2. Proven fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants.
  3. A proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management in excess of $1M or more annually.
  4. YMCA Organizational Leader Certification (If this is not currently possessed, the Executive Director is required to obtain this within 3 years of hire date.)
  5. CFRE or MBA in Non-profit management

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000

Additional Compensation Details:

Retirement contribution, vacation plan, health plan and other benefits included per personnel policy, along with Board approved relocation costs.
