Under the direction of the Youth & Teen Director, the Associate Director of Youth, Families and Enrichment provides direct supervision, organization and planning of enrichment, youth and family programs. As a member of the Y management team, the incumbent actively participates as needed in a variety of cross-departmental projects and initiatives that advance the Y mission and strategic plan goals.
YOUTH AND FAMILY PROGRAMMING:
Creates and strengthens community programing and develops new family outreach initiatives.
Assists the Youth & Teen Director in the development and implementation of Camp Kidquest & Camp Summerquest.
Plans and facilitates Family Night Activities.
Builds effective, authentic relationships with members and families; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
Conveys information on Family Programs and schedules and as appropriate, refers members and families to other programs.
Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
Communicate with the Maintenance Department to ensure room set up with tables and chairs for party usage prior to participants' arrival.
BIRTHDAY PARTY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Communicate with various departments regarding Birthday party booking, details, pricing.
Provide information to the public on birthday party packages, as well as our other services, programs, daily events, and communicate schedule changes.
Schedule and process payments for all Birthday Parties and room rentals.
Trains and supervises volunteers as assigned.
ENRICHMENT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports the Enrichment program.
Teaches approximately 3-5 hours/week.
Communicate with other instructors, order supplies, and provide administrative assistance.
Work with Youth & Teen Director for scheduling and the development of new offerings.
Supervise, hire and conduct reviews of Enrichment staff.
All YMCA staff are accountable for understanding the organization's charitable status and mission to assure access for all through fundraising and philanthropy.
Responsible for identifying and recruiting volunteers for the annual campaign, building strategic relationships with members for year round member cultivation to increase the number of member donors, and directly and personally participating in campaign efforts and ongoing fundraising.
Hold staff accountable for participating in the annual campaign and to identify and recruit member volunteers.
College Degree preferred.
Enjoy, be skilled at and understand the importance of building relationships with people: members, staff, volunteers, donors, and community leaders.
High degree of accuracy with information provided.
Multi-task oriented; effective organizational skills and able to take initiative.
Ability to effectively communicate and problem-solve.
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
General knowledge of Windows computer operating environment, Microsoft Office. Experience using CLASS preferred.
Must be available nights and weekends.
Salary: $32,000 - $36,000
Additional Compensation Details: Medical, dental, vision, 403B, free membership and discounted programs, 8% retirement match when eligible.
