Job Description:

The YMCA of Arlington is seeking an experienced, successful, and enthusiastic team player to serve as the Associations Director of Marketing and Communication, providing leadership for the comprehensive program of internal and external public relations, marketing, and branding oversight, as well as development of the YMCA's digital engagement strategy, including social media. The YMCA of Arlington is a results-oriented, growth-minded organization made up of three YMCA Family Centers with a current annual budget of $7.5M.

Reporting directly to the Director of Program Development & Quality Assurance, the Director of Marketing and Communication will be a partner in the delivery of services by providing strategic planning for the organization's marketing/communication efforts, and by embracing the YMCA of Arlington's culture of excellence and continuous growth. This candidate must have the ability to develop and implement an annual operating plan for marketing/communication that aligns with the YMCA of Arlington's strategic plan. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing or a related field; YMCA experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/University.
  • Ability to create innovative and quality brochures, flyers, and related advertising pieces.
  • Experience in online digital marketing and social media; create and manage social media and monitor web content for accuracy.
  • Embraces and stays up-to-date on the newest trends and tools with new technology and continually searches for new ways to connect with members and donors through social media.
  • Ability to create, communicate, and implement, a written, detailed and effective Annual and Monthly Marketing Plans.
  • Shows self-initiative, leadership, and vision to drive a culture of excellence in marketing and communication that aligns with the strategic and operational plans of the organization.
  • Creates innovative and quality marketing pieces and communications that will effectively drive traffic to the YMCA of Arlington family centers that will help produce the projected monthly association membership goals.
  • Capable of working with family center staff to effectively collect information on upcoming programs and increase member involvement.
  • Ability to support YMCA family centers by creating marketing templates and resources by which staff can utilize to create family center marketing pieces.
  • Skilled in tracking and analyzing all marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Proficient in YMCA-USA branding standards and ability to monitor all marketing and communications to ensure branding standards are met throughout the association.
  • Comfortable working with committees, board of directors, volunteers, community partners and collaborations.
  • Ability to work well with people from different backgrounds and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound human relations and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multi-task is needed.
  • Willing to assist with association special events.

Salary: $43,000 - $50,000

Additional Compensation Details:

100% Health Insurance for the individual, 10% Retirement paid by the employer, life insurance, a generous vacation plan, and YMCA Membership and Programs including School-Age Child Care.
