We're located in northwestern New Jersey just outside the 70,000-acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, one of the last true wilderness areas in the northeastern United States. Job Description and Required Certifications: Job Summary: Camp Mason is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and safety-conscious individual to act as Aquatics Director at our traditional YMCA summer camp. The Aquatics Director is a senior staff member whose primary role is ensuring the delivery of a safe and engaging aquatics program. Requirements: YMCA Camp Mason is a co-ed summer resident camp program serving campers aged 5-16. Staff are required to attend all pre-camp trainings and commit to the entirety of camp season June 8-August 17. Qualified Candidates Will Possess: Previous experience in residential camping. Current certification in first aid and CPR. Current lifeguard certification. Lifeguard trainer certification is a plus. Experience in supervising others especially peers is desirable. Job Duties: 1) Plan, direct, and supervise a safe and fun waterfront program. 2) Train and supervise waterfront staff. 3) Manage the physical facilities and equipment in the waterfront program area. 4) Participate as a member of the camp management team to plan, direct, and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1) Training and experience in a variety of program activities offered at the camp. 2) Ability to schedule and supervise staff. 3) Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff. 4) Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. 5) Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers. 6) Desire and ability to work with children outdoors.

Salary Information: $240 plus per week dependent on experience
