Camp Description: Located on Barlow Lake, Camp Manitou-Lin offers kids a variety of experiences! To support the amenities listed, we have nine out buildings and 10 resident cabins that can house 220 people. Our riding center houses 50 horses year-round and we also have two archery ranges, a chapel, zip line, high ropes course, rock wall, along with three docks and a variety of boats.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The Nature Specialist will plan, direct and supervise camps Nature Center program for both Day + Overnight Camp. This position is a live onsite position with evening responsibilities. This position runs early June- late August. Compensation is $190-$200/week and room and board is included. Education: At least 18 years of age and high school graduate or equivalent. Required: Documented experience in working with children. Additional Qualifications: 1.Documented training and experience in environmental studies. 2.Ability to set up demonstration and programs and to teach skills to staff and campers of all ages. 3.Ability to supervise staff, make scheduling assignments and order supplies and equipment. 4.Desire and ability to work with children outdoors. 5.Ability to relate to ones peer group. 6.Ability to accept guidance and supervision. 7.Good character, integrity and ability to adapt to camp 8.Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control. Primary Responsibilities: 1.Set up Nature Center during staff training. 2.Teach staff their responsibilities in activities during staff training. 3.Teach and monitor proper use of equipment. 4.Conduct initial and end-of-season inventory. 5.Check equipment and make or file for repairs. 6.Conduct daily check of program area and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair. 7.Responsible for the care of any animals present in the Nature Center during the summer. 8.Write and check all lesson plans for Nature programming. 9.Assist with overall camp activities. 10.Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, ensuring timely arrival of materials. 11.Assist with the Day Camp Family Night 12.Assist with packing all materials and supplies at end of season. 13.Follow camp rules and regulations pertaining to smoking, use of alcoholic beverages, and use of drugs. 14.There are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties many be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
