Camp Description: YMCA Camp Piomingo is located within Otter Creek Outdoor Recreation Area in Brandenburg, KY - a 50 minute drive from downtown Louisville and less than 15 minutes from each of two other nearby towns. The ACA accredited camp has a camper capacity of over 300 and has the only equestrian camp program in the state with 24 horses and a 14-stable barn. The $1 million operation (75% summer camp, 15% school-year groups, 10% contributions) is poised for growth with enrollment trending upward in recent years.

Operating continuously since 1938, Camp Piomingo is located on 360 beautiful acres within 2,600 acres of access-controlled state park land just 30 miles from Louisville. KNOW HOW/REQUIREMENTS: • Commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA • Commitment to the Vision of YMCA Camp Piomingo o We are a YMCA Camp with a Campers and Guests first belief, committed to training exceptional staff, who foster unique, life-changing experiences that provide a home away from home for those we serve. • Multi-task and detail oriented, organized, and energetic • Cultivate, maintain and enhance a vision for Equestrian, Group Camping, and Day Camp Programs • Perform general maintenance tasks as needed (cleaning, changing light bulbs, fixing toilets, etc…) • This position requires a person with knowledge of equestrian management and riding experience • Must be able to work in hot conditions and around horses for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks as needed • Set-up and tear down rooms for various activities and meetings • Responsible, self motivated and reliable • Work to obtain relevant certifications and trainings to enhance job performance • Focus on customer service • Work with children to develop friendships, character and fun • Prior camp experience and equestrian experience preferred • Build relationships with customers, community, and volunteers • Logistical management • Creative program development • Fiscal Management • College Diploma in a field relevant to the position • Minimum age 21 to apply for this position ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Demonstrate a positive attitude, driven to provide campers and guests with an incredible experience • Lead a quality equestrian program with excellent equestrian staff, horses, and facilities o All barn facilities, trails and tack o Progressive curriculum that develops confidence and riding skills in all riders o General horse care – hooves, health, feeding o Hiring of equestrian staff (summer and group season) o Continue to grow and improve Equestrian program • Create and grow a Camp Piomingo Day Camp o Programming, staffing and development o Marketing • Lead and grow the quality and quantity of Group Camping o Marketing to recruit more groups o Scheduling, contracting, and programming for all school-year groups o Staffing and coverage for all school-year groups • Driving of camp vehicles and machinery (tractors, large mowers, horse trailer, Camp Van etc…) • Cleaning of YMCA facility and equipment as assigned • Relationship building with Campers, Guests, and Staff • Facility Security • Work and live on site • Work nights and weekends when campers are on site • Participate in staff meetings and trainings • Personal and professional development as it relates to enhancing the camp experience for all we serve SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: • Budget responsibility $400,000 • Summer Equestrian Program volume approx. 220 camper-weeks • Anticipated Summer Day Camp size approx. 130 camper-weeks • School-year Groups currently 60 days per year • Staff development responsibility for 10 part time seasonal staff • Direct facility management responsibility for stables and fenced riding/pasture areas; shared responsibility for the rest of the over 40 buildings on the 360 acres

Salary Information: $27,000 - $30,000
