Job Description and Required Certifications: YMCA Camp Tockwogh is looking for a mature, dynamic, knowledgeable, motivated team player to provide leadership in our Waterfront Programs. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated by the prospect of working, living and playing on the shores of the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Waterfront Assistant Program Director is responsible for the administration, development, and implementation of all waterfront programs including but not limited to sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, kayaking, and windsurfing programs at Camp Tockwogh. The Waterfront Program Director will provide onsite supervision of two operating waterfronts and a fleet of approximately 100 boats. Responsibilities include staff and camper recruitment and retention, personnel management, fiscal management, program, staff, and camper development, equipment and facility management. Responsible for assisting with research and planning for long-range improvements to the waterfront facility and equipment. Responsible for accurate maintenance and inventory records. Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of 3+ years progressive professional experience in residential camping and boating/waterfront management. Experience with marine equipment and fleet maintenance is a must. Ability to sail and drive power boats. Ability to do general repairs on sail boats, power boats/engines and other waterfront equipment. Certification and licensing as an Ellis and Associates lifeguard instructor and Maryland safe boating instructor/licensure are preferred. U.S. Coast Guard OUPV limited deck license and challenge course manager certification preferred. Non-profit fiscal management experience a plus. Will need to live on property and be part of a rotating schedule of directors to be on duty around the clock during the summer/conference season.
Salary Information: Salary $31,000 including medical, dental and 12% retirement. Housing is provided in a 2 bed, 1 bathroom house with a living room, kitchen, and porch.
