Camp Description: YMCA Camp Grady Spruce (CGS) is the overnight camp of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. Located 120 miles west of Dallas on Possum Kingdom Lake, Camp Grady Spruce's 845 acres offer an amazing venue to strengthen relationships and explore Gods creation. Camp Grady Spruce provides year-round camping opportunities for children, schools, groups, and families. Camp Grady Spruce has the honor of serving over 20,000 people annually.

Job Description and Required Certifications: Currently, CGS is seeking an Equestrian Director who will provide leadership to the equestrian program and operations. The Equestrian Director is responsible for planning and executing the equestrian activities throughout the year including but not limited to teaching campers riding lessons, supervising staff at 3 locations, scheduling and leading trail rides as well as feeding and medicating horses as needed, ensuring the safety of the riding equipment and maintaining the equipment and facilities around the 3 riding areas. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in both equestrian programming and operations. Equestrian programs include: trail rides, horseback progression activities and specialty horseback programs. Operational responsibilities include: health of horses, appropriate and safe equipment, budgeting, scheduling, feeding and scheduling routine tasks such as farriers, worming, coggins, etc. Must have prior experience supervising staff, and working with children. The incumbent should be able to develop and monitor a budget and must be able to take prescribed steps toward obtaining & maintaining any required training for this position. Detail oriented, self starter who must have ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect and responsibility with staff, volunteers, YMCA members, program participants and general public.
Salary Information: $1,171.81 $1,346.15 per pay period ($30,467.00 $35,000.00 if annualized)
