RESIDENT CAMP PROGRAM DIRECTOR Camp Name: Camp Foster YMCA Camp Location: Spirit Lake, IA Camp Description: 214 acres nestled in on East Lake Okoboji. A long heritage of 100 years of building character through a mix of traditional programming, and cutting edge programming to impact kids for generations Sponsoring YMCA: Camp Foster YMCA YMCA Location: Spirit Lake, IA Job Description and Required Certifications: Can You Make A Difference! Looking for a cause-driven, high energy individual to give leadership to our summer residence camping and community programming at the legendary Camp Foster YMCA. Camp Foster features over 200 acres on the beautiful East Lake Okoboji, with outstanding facilities, programming, staff, and legacy. Essential Functions include: Plan and implement programming for resident camp & assist with development of new program options for campers. Coordinate program area schedules with Day Camp. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate, selected program staff, and volunteers. Focus on identified target populations and create programs based on their needs. Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow staff and members of all ages and background. Implement marketing program for all Resident Camp and community programs. Monitor income and expenses and stay within budget of all programs. All variances must be reported to Camp Executive with explanations. Act as a Staff Liaison in annual Strong Kids Campaign. Work with camp alumni and community on development of sustaining gifts to Camp Foster Qualifications BA/BS in education, recreation, or related field or similar experience. Attain appropriate certifications to run school-age, day camp, resident camp, and ACA certification programs.
