Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. In this role, you will provide our members with exceptional customer service, developing strong and supportive relationships that provide motivation and guidance focused on the specific needs of each member. You will play an important role in connecting members with programs and activities that will help them achieve their goals. You will also assist people in the membership and program enrollment process.

Qualifications

·         Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

·         Preferred previous customer service, sales, or related experience.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

·         Basic computer skills/knowledge required

·         Fluency in a second language desired (with a $0.50 increase in starting wage!)

·         Build relationships with a diverse membership base in culturally responsive ways, connect members with one another and to the YMCA

·         Exhibit Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility 

·         Complete required training and certifications within established guidelines

Essential Functions

·         In this role, you will provide our members exceptional customer service, developing strong and supportive relationships that provide motivation and guidance focused on the specific needs of each member

·         Conducts membership interviews, enrolls new members, and provides motivational support and guidance. Processes member applications, including performing data entry.

·         Assists members and participants with program registration, answers inquiries, including member concerns, and provides information on YMCA membership and programs. Refers members to programs and/or staff based on member goals/interest

·         Supports member engagement and retention activities of the branch.

·         Address and resolve membership concerns in a courteous manner. 

·         Apply all YMCA policies, practices, and procedures ensuring a positive member experience

·         May conduct tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sell memberships or programming.

·         Perform other duties as assigned

·         Attends staff meetings and training as required.
