Job Description

Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Youth and Family Program Director will oversee the operations of the branch’s Arts & Humanities, Family and KidZone programming.


An Associate’s Degree in related field, with a minimum of three years’ experience in program development and supervision. CPR/First Aid also required.

Essential Functions

Job Segments:

Responsible for recruiting, hiring, providing orientations, supervising and scheduling staff for all program areas.

Will ensure data within the Y-Improvement model is accurate and up to date. Will be accountable for meeting or exceeding target conditions related to his/her areas of responsibility.

Schedule staff by YMCA of the USA, and YMCA/JCC of Greater Toledo guidelines.

Relate to and assist members with questions concerning programs.

Schedule and hold staff meetings once a session.

Control expenses in specified budget areas, and consult with supervisor in fiscal management.

Lead the planning and implementation of family nights/ events and other family programming throughout the year.

Attend all necessary association and committee meetings as deemed appropriate by the Supervisor.

Establish and maintain collaborations with outside agencies and groups.

Assist with annual campaign and membership campaigns.

Participate in citywide events and activities as deemed appropriate by the Supervisor.

Assist in maintaining the branch/program TQM standards.

Perform any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Supervisor.
