Job Description

We are currently looking for a Program Director II in our School Age Services (SAS) department to be a leader and role model for the staff who run our programs and who can ensure that we deliver a high quality of programming to all participants. The Program Director will manage the daily operations of 10 to 11 afterschool program sites and 3 to 5 summer day camp programs, ensuring that all sites meet licensing requirements.


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in management, education or business; with 1 or more years of experience in multi-unit management
  • Preferred applicants will have a BS/BA degree and/or are currently a Director Certified through Child Care Licensing
  • Proven track record in achieving financial results
  • Strong skills is planning, recruitment, customer service and program development
  • Demonstrated ability to build and coach a team of individuals as business unit leaders
  • Must build rapport with in the local community including school administration
  • Strong interpersonal/human relations skills are critical
  • Applicants must have dependable transportation to make site visits

Essential Functions

This position must build and maintain strong relationships with district administrators, principals and office staff as well as their part-time direct reports. It will be important to relate to the assigned YMCA branches to ensure branch staff have an understanding, appreciation and enthusiasm for the afterschool program. The incumbent will strive to reach licensing capacity at all sites and expand to additional schools and will assist the SAS team in developing creative, enriching activities for daily lessons. In addition, the Program Director will ensure that all staff are properly trained and will manage the financial responsibilities associated with the after school program and camp program such a purchasing and fee collection. It will be important to support the mission of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas in the after school setting by promoting the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility; promote mental and physical well-being for children and families.

This position will work primarily on site in Coppell with a home office at our Coppell YMCA branch.


$45,000.00 - $54,000.00
