Job Description

Phantom Lake YMCA Camp in Mukwonago, Wisconsin is looking to fill their YLT Director for summer 2021.The Youth Leadership Training (YLT) Director must carry on, direct, and supervise the Day Camp Youth Leadership Training Program. Required to supervise and guide junior counselors throughout the summer experience and be able to identify and meet the needs of all campers and participants in the program. Seasonal position summer 2021, employment June 2021 - August 2021.


What we are looking for:

Individual at least 21years old. Must have leadership experience, preferably in a day camp or child care setting, or experience coaching/mentoring teens age 14-17. This is a live on site position. Must be organized, patient and enthusiastic. Be able to handle many different types of situations and think on your feet.

Essential Functions

As part of the administrative team, the YLT Director must help supervise and ensure overall safety at camp. Finally, he or she is responsible for other duties which may include, but are not limited to: Night supervisor or manager on duty. To Apply: Must be an individual of at least 21 years of age. Preference to individuals with leadership experience. Previous experience leading a team. Must have current CPR and first aid certifications and previous camp staff experience; preference to individuals with junior counselor program experience. Previous experience leading and supervising teenagers preferred. Must possess the ability and desire to work with children, and have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well. Must posses the ability and experience in leading, supervising, and teaching staff, junior counselors, and campers. Also, must have experience and skills in a variety of camp activities. Must be prepared to handle large amounts of responsibility and remain level-headed in any situation. Must exhibit: integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, and respect. This is a live on site position.

Required Certifications

Required Certifications:First aid, CPR, and AED. American Heart Association or Red Cross preferred. (Can be completed at camp).
