Job Description

Counselors are the backbone of the staff. Counselors live in a tent with campers. They are responsible for the leadership and supervision of the tent group. Counselors are also assigned to a specific program area based on having appropriate skill levels, aptitude and current certifications. In program areas, responsibilities include lesson plans, inventories, daily class instruction, issuing awards and certificates, maintaining the program area and complete program reports. Seasonal position summer 2021, employment June 2021 - August 2021.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

Individual at least 18years old. MUST LOVE WORKING WITH KIDS. This is a live in position. Must be organized, patient and enthusiastic. Be able to handle many different types of camper situations and think on your feet.

Essential Functions

Camp Counselors are responsible for the overall leadership, guidance and program of camp participants. Counselors must be willing to work in either a day camp or resident camp role, will rotate weekly. Counselors build relationships with campers, between campers, and within the camp community. Counselors must identify and meet the needs of all campers and participants, making each experience positive and unique. Safety must be a counselor’s number one priority. Counselors must assist in teaching skills and program activities while maintaining standards that lead to a safe and quality progressive program. A counselor must have integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, and respect.

Required Certifications

Required Certifications:First aid, CPR, and AED. American Heart Association or Red Cross preferred. Can be acquired at camp.
