Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer and in accordance with the Christian mission and purpose of the Great Miami Valley YMCA Association, the Executive Director of Camp is accountable for the administration and operation of YMCA Camp Campbell Gard in accordance with the policies and goals of Camp and the Great Miami Valley YMCA.

Qualifications

  1. Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management or related field required.
  2. Experience: Three or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  3. Other Experience: Experience with high ropes courses, team building and horses preferred.
  4. Certifications: Lifeguard certification, ServSafe, CPO, Ropes, Horses, and Shooting Sports all preferred but not required.
  5. Knowledge of and experience with the American Camp Association (ACA) helpful but not essential.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  7. Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
  8. Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of Branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  9. Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
  10. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  11. CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.

Essential Functions

1. Manages, supervises, trains, and evaluates all key staff and volunteers, and assists in meeting developmental needs.

2. Maintains diverse advisory councils that actively support the Y’s goals and strategic plans. Recruits, selects, and develops diverse volunteers for the branch board. Clarifies and reinforces the division of roles and responsibilities between corporate boards, management or advisory boards, staff, and general volunteers.

3. Coordinates and facilitates, as needed, staff meetings and personal/professional development opportunities on a regular basis using performance standards, work performance and review procedures to accomplish the maximum attainment of goals and objectives.

4. Oversees the development of all board members and serves as staff officer to the Branch boards, board committees and volunteer groups, or delegates the responsibility to appropriate staff.

5. Responsible for annual budget development, monthly budget monitoring, year-end forecasts, and achievement of a balanced budget.

6. Maintains systems of financial control including revenues, expenses, and inventories, and operates the Branch in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Association’s finance policy.

7. Maintains safe, clean and attractive facilities. Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.

8. Assures attainment of annual support campaign goals.

9. Develops and directs high quality summer camp and school-year programs which support branch and association goals and strategies. Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team.

10.Secures and maintains programs, financial, personnel and participation records.

11.Effectively communicates community benefit and the Y’s impact for all stakeholders (e.g., staff, volunteers, members, community leaders) develops positive working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.

12.Secures sufficient revenue to provide program services consistent with established goals and strategizes on ways to grow revenue.

13.Develops an ongoing strategy for building a base of support through endowments.

14.Ensures the Branch offers high-quality programs that comply with YMCA standards and methods of operations.

15.Responsible for program development into unserved and underserved portions of the service area.

16.Responsible for creating and maintaining a culture that encourages staff and volunteers to develop new and creative methods of delivering the mission of the YMCA through progress.

$63,189.00 - $75,826.00
