Job Description

Branch Operations Director Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of YMCA experience including leading multiple program areas; like Membership, Sports, Aquatics, and Health & Wellness. Responsibilities include; hiring, directing, and motivating staff; building relationships with members, volunteers, and community partners; developing and adhering to a budget; and providing staff support for annual support campaigns. Position will supervise assigned areas, including all programs. Position participates in strategic leadership and development and direction of member engagement strategies. Primary responsibilities are day to day operations and secondary working with senior Branch Executive Director on outward facing community activities.

About the Lynn YMCA:

Currently, the Lynn Y hosts a membership of 5,000 members with over 1,500 children enrolled in healthy living, aquatics, youth programs and Y Academy annually.

Our Capital Project - The New Lynn YMCA:

In 2018, the YMCA of Metro North began construction on a new Y for the City of Lynn. This new 70,000 square-foot structure will be the epicenter of the Lynn Education District, which includes such prominent schools like Saint Mary’s, KIPP Academy, the Washington Elementary

School and Lynn Tech High School. The new Lynn Y, and the renovation of the existing Y building, will provide supportive healthy living activities for all of Lynn’s population; adolescents, adults, young families and senior citizens. It will also boast a 3-pool aquatic center, a 14,000 square foot wellness center, a teaching kitchen and café, a health clinic, Y Academy early learning classrooms, community space, a gymnasium, an 11 lap per mile track and so much more. In addition, about, 80,000 square feet of the current Lynn YMCA will remain in operation serving predominantly as a youth and teen center!

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business or a related field, or equivalent.

· Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.

· Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.

· Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

· Multilingual preferred

· Experience working in urban environments

· YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred.

· Requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse; CPR; First Aid; AED; and orientation

Essential Functions

· Recruits, hires, trains, develops and directs employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

· Maintains the day to day operations of the Lynn Branch, including safety protocols, program execution and innovation, member and participant satisfaction.

· Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.

· Establishes with the leadership team long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives.

· Provides staff leadership for annual staff support campaign.

· Serves as a member of YMCA leadership team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.

· Based on the YMCA’s COVID-19 recovery, this position MAY be up to 70% direct service.

Salary

$65,000.00 - $80,000.00
