Job Description

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 4+ years of directly related experience
  • Positive, effective, calm, and professional written and verbal communication with all stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, attention to detail
  • Proficient with computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certificate highly desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics software preferred

Essential Functions

  • Team Leadership Provide leadership, coaching, and support to create optimal levels of engagement, retention, and team member growth.

  • Financial Reporting Provide timely, accurate, relevant, and useful financial reports to inform wise decisions at all levels of the organization.

  • Risk Management and Compliance Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external policies and procedures as evidenced by clean audits. Oversee risk management to minimize avoidable and uncovered losses, and the execution of the organization's financial controls to ensure accurate and timely accounts payable and receivable.

  • Investment Oversight Work with the investment partner to support the YMCA Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and the Endowment Board of Directors by providing the timely, accurate, relevant, and useful information they need to make wise investment decisions within the guidelines of our investment policies.

  • Performance Monitoring and Business Intelligence Design and implement a performance monitoring and business intelligence system to help decision-makers understand the current performance, health, and impact of the organization.

  • Budgeting and Financial Planning Facilitate a streamlined process to co-create, execute, and achieve a budget that is aligned with the strategic plan and increases the health of the organization.

  • Relationship Management Maintain strong relationships with team members, volunteers, and the community to help move the organization towards its strategic goals.

  • Teaching, Internal Consulting, and Business Practice Optimization Be a proactive partner to help leaders and staff understand how to leverage financial systems and reporting to drive progress and success in their departments, teams, and individual roles.
