Job Description

The Caylor-Nickel Foundation Family YMCA has an immediate opening for an Early Learning Center Director. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Early Learning Center Director supervises the Early Learning Center full day childcare programs and staff including the day-to-day operations, development of quality programming/curriculum, positive communications with parents, staff professional development, and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate has a passion for impacting the lives of the children and families in the community.   1. Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  2. Two to three years of previous experience with toddler and preschool aged childrenalong with developmental stages is preferred.
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  4. Previous childcare experience, building a team, running programs, and supervisingothers is preferred.
  5. Experience in, or ability to, expertly relate to diverse groups of people regardless ofage, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Essential Functions

  1. Develop, implement, and promote high quality childcare and expand existing programs to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  2. Recruit, hire, train and develop staff and volunteers as needed.
  3. Compile program statistics and participant feedback in order to evaluate the effectiveness of programs offered.
  4. Make connections with members, parents, children and assist with inquiries.
  5. Expand and strengthen collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  6. Develop and monitor program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
  7. Ensure compliance with state/local regulations, licensing, and YMCA program standards as they relate to Early Learning. Assure the upkeep of Early LearningCenter and equipment.
  8. Assist in YMCA fundraising activities, special events, marketing and distributionof program information where applicable.
  9. Serve as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
