Youth Program Director is responsible for overseeing the creation and implementation of our youth and family programs through 7 week programs and family engagement while promoting the values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage. Director will be responsible for program supervision, development and growth, with a strong emphasis on safety and program quality.


Minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to direct school-age programs through recruitment and supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing, program development, and fundraising.

  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

  • Ability to provide for the physical and emotional needs of children

  • Ability to interact and communicate clearly in a positive manner with children, other workers and parents of participants


Bachelor's Degree in child psychology, recreation management or related field with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a day camp or child care environment.Candidate must possess strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills, a demonstrated ability to, build strong community partnerships, and possess strong financial management and technology skills. Additional knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook, a valid driver’s license, Current First Aid and CPR Certifications or be willing to obtain within 60 days of employment.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include promoting and managing annual enrollments, financial oversight, staff hiring, training and supervision, and overseeing operations of the three program sites in the Rochester and Dover communities with a current enrollment of about 180+ children with potential for expansion in other communities.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, implement, supervise and evaluate family programs, 7 week youth programs, and teen initiatives that meet the Association Strategic Plan.

  • Coordinate and instruct programs a minimum of 15 hours/week during the school year.

  • Hire, train, and supervise part-time staff, volunteers and the Sports/Teen instructors.

  • Provide each staff member with an annual personnel review and assure all training and regular instructor meetings are met.

  • Responsible for creating and managing program budget.

  • Keep accurate inventories of equipment ensuring all is safe, well-kept and functional for use in programming.

  • Work with School Age Director to develop, and implement vacation camps.

  • Serve as the Assistant Camp Director.

  • Assist in pre-camp planning and training with Camp Director.

  • Continually model and teach character development qualities.

  • Implement and adhere to all COVID related protocols in program areas.

  • Maintain a good working relationship with other staff utilizing positive communication.

  • Attend and participate in all staff trainings, family nights and staff meetings.
