Job Description

The Senior Program Director will empower others by sharing insights and modeling behavior, which creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all while providing excellent customer service through the delivery of high-quality programs and effective communication. The Senior Program Director is responsible for the development and operation of year-round youth and adult programs. These responsibilities include program growth and retention, member engagement, fiscal management, volunteer and staff development, program and marketing and communication. Additional responsibilities include community outreach and assistance with an annual sustaining campaign.

Qualifications

·A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required.

·Four (4) or moreyears as a YMCA program director, or experience in a related field.

·Must have current Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid and certifications.

·Swim Lesson Instructor certification a plus.

·Ability to become Lifeguard Training Instructor and Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer certified within ninety (90) days of employment.

·Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

·Strong customer service skills.

·Hands-on experience with utilizing data to make an informed decision.

·Personal commitment to service and hospitality.

Essential Functions

·Provide an excellent Y experience by exceeding member and program participant expectations.

·Work closely with the CEO to enhance and add value to Y memberships through quality programs.

·Develop and deploy comprehensive program marketing, recruitment, and retention plans.

·Plan and execute quality programming in the areas of aquatics, school-age child care, day camp, and youth/adult sports.

·Oversee and conduct ongoing program evaluations and surveys to ensure that high levels of program quality are maintained at all times.

·Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff, including preparing and conducting in-services, trainings, and meetings.

·Perform weekly safety checks and live drills with program staff as least one time per month.

· Input and set up department programs and activities in computer system on a timely basis to ensure YMCA member’s ability to register as needed.

·Attend all weekly Leadership Team meetings.

·Accountable for approving the program department payroll.

·Coordinate, communicate, and conduct special events for YMCA members and rental groups.

·Inspect the premises daily for any hazardous conditions and report any findings to the Property Manager and the Chief Executive Officer.

·Assist in development and implementation of the Branch program marketing plan and strategies.

· Requires flexible hours to work evenings and weekends. Must work during majority of scheduled program times.

·Accountable to the Chief Executive Officer for execution of policies and procedures of the Association.

·Provide leadership during the Budgeting Process.

·Other responsibilities deemed necessary by the Chief Executive Officer.

Required Certifications

Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED, and First Aid

Lifeguard Training Instructor and Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer within ninety (90) days of employment.

Salary

$38,000.00 - $42,000.00
