Job Description

Oversee all aspects of aquatic programming including training and supervision of lifeguards, coordination of swim lessons, and oversight of our competitive swimming program. Aquatic Facilities include an indoor 50-meter competitive pool with a 500 seat spectator gallery. In addition, the facility also has a separate 25-yard indoor warm water pool. Candidates with a history of innovative and creative programming are strongly encouraged to apply.


Minimum of three years of experience in aquatic operations, management, and programming preferred. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Competitive swimming background, especially as a coach, will be a definite plus.

Essential Functions

Hire, Schedule, Train, and Develop Lifeguard Staff. Monitor daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations and conducts and ensure proper maintenance of pools. Maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance. Conduct lifeguard, First Aid and CPR trainings as well as monthly in-service trainings with lifeguards. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, members, and program participants. Maintain regular, clear, and concise communication within areas of responsibility. Fiscal responsibilities include budget management and staff payroll.

Expand current swim lesson program, facility rentals as well as enhance current safety around water programming for local school district. Competitive Swimming background will be a plus to support growing swim team program.

Required Certifications

Current Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications. LGI Certification desired.
Bachelor's degree in recreation or equivalent desired.
Minimum of three years of experience in aquatic operations, management, and programming preferred.
Competitive coaching experience preferred.
