Job Description

This position will revitalize and develop the Membership and Health & Wellness departments. Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, the candidate will create a strategic membership plan and develop programming for all ages utilizing all areas of our 51,000 sq ft building including the 12 Lane Aquatic Center and our brand new Family Activity Center.

The position will include the development and administration of the membership and wellness departments, program development and promotion, implementation and evaluation, supervision, and financial operation in accordance with Association goals, objectives, and policies.


Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Exercise Science, or related is required and or equivalent experience

Must have experience in sales and creating revenue-producing programs

Holds certifications in YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles, Strength Training; or related certifications through a reputable industry source (ACE, ASCM, AFAA, etc.) CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.

Minimum 2-5 years in supervisory experience, including full-time and part-time employees. Must possess an ability to motivate, educate, develop, and inspire staff.

Essential Functions

Creates membership initiatives that result in sales growth and increased retention

Develop & implement revenue-generating personal training program

Streamline current Health & Wellness class offerings with an emphasis on maximizing space and instructor schedules and increasing the quality of classes

Create new fee-based Health & Wellness programs designed for small groups

Modernize our Youth Health & Wellness offerings for all ages

Lead ongoing training, goal setting and coaching for floor staff, personal trainers, and group exercise instructors

Must be able to teach and lead classes when needed

Recruits, hires, and trains Welcome Center staff in collaboration with Welcome Center Supervisor.

Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Hosts regularly scheduled staff meetings for the Membership & Health and Wellness departments.

Provides accurate and up-to-date facility schedules in collaboration with Aquatics Director

Develops systems for effective communication between the Welcome Center/Health & Wellness Staff, program staff, and members.

Will work in collaboration with Director of Strategic Initiatives to market and promote programs and membership sales.

Attends all scheduled staff meetings and meetings as requested.

All other duties as assigned.


$40,000.00 - $55,000.00
