Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. An Alliance Strategic Executive Director is charged with building the capacity of their assigned YMCAs defined as the Southwest Alliance comprised of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and El Paso, TX. through strategic work and the use of performance consulting methodology to assess the highest business needs and the delivery of strategic services.

You must reside in one of the Southwest Alliance areas listed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Organizational Leadership certification required, or achieved within three years
  • Five or more years’ experience leading or consulting in non-profit environments
  • Skilled and experienced in Performance Consulting Methodology (Partner, Assess, Implement, & Measure)
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Extensive background developing and delivering strategic processes in core essential functions
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess a proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrates strong leadership competencies as listed below

Essential Functions

  • Provide strategic services to Ys within a designated portfolio within the Southwest Alliance of YMCAs
  • Lead, Facilitate, & Support:
    • Strategic Planning
    • Board Governance
    • Shared Services/Management Agreements/Mergers
    • Networking & Relationship Building
  • Assist in implementation of, support and guidance:
    • CEO Search Assistance
    • CEO/CVO Onboarding
    • Capital Development Planning (Readiness & Planning/Pre-funding)
    • Early Intervention for struggling YMCAs
    • Aligning Training Partner Y annual chart of work with regional alliance needs
    • Provide ongoing and regular updates to the Southwest Alliance Executive Committee
    • Provide quarterly alliance annual chart of work updates to Executive Committee
    • Provide needed support with Southwest Alliance events, advocacy efforts within each state and annual Key Leaders Conference
    • Work collaboratively with Southwest Alliance Executive Committee identifying annual goals

Salary

$60,000.00 - $75,000.00
