Youth Development Next Up Director

Job Description

The Center Director will oversee program planning and administration for YMCA / Next Up after school and summer enrichment programs, ensuring program quality and fidelity, modeling and maintaining a positive center culture. In addition, the Director will:

1. Build rapport with students, parents, school stakeholders, and community partners to enhance program. Facilitate andmaintain positive communication with all stakeholders.

2. Employ collaborative spirit to engage community partners in program.

3. Work closely with school officials and others to support recruitment of students.

4. Supervise on-site staff and volunteers, including hiring, training, scheduling, monitoring, evaluating, and providing feedback.

5. Maintain site quality, including instruction, equipment and supplies.

6. Oversee operating budget for center.

7. Complete any required data collection or reporting in a timely and accurate manner.


Applicants should have a commitment to the YMCA and Next Up missions, and experience building relationships with diverse community stakeholders. Experience managing staff and volunteers is preferred. A bachelor's degree is required, in a related field preferred. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required. At least three years' experience working directly with middle school youth in an educational setting is required. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as excellent organizational technology abilities are required.
