Job Summary:

The Parkview Family YMCA has an immediate opening for a Full Time Membership Director. Reporting to the Executive Director, the ideal candidate will have noticeable experience providing excellent customer service and building community relationships including diverse populations. A successful director will be a detail-oriented, effective listener, strong team builder and servant leader.

  1. Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
  2. Two to threeyears of related experience; preferably within the YMCA.
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred. A combination of equivalent work experience, education and training may be considered.
  4. Previous experience building a team and supervising others is preferred.
  5. Experience in, or ability to, expertly relate to diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Essential Functions

  1. Cultivate and direct quality relationship-based member engagement strategies.
  2. Develop, implement, and promote dynamic new programs and expand existing programs to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  3. Recruit, hire, train and develop part-time staff and volunteers as needed.
  4. Foster meaningful connections for the members and guests to the YMCA and serve as a leader for the YMCA in improving member satisfaction.
  5. Compile program statistics and participant feedback in order to evaluate the effectiveness of programs offered.
  6. Expand and strengthen relationships with community organizations.
  7. Develop and monitor department budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  8. Participate as an active member of the branch management team.
  9. Assist in YMCA fundraising activities, special events, marketing and distribution of program information where applicable.
  10. Demonstrate effective listening and compassion toward people in all interactions with the purpose of delivering the mission of the YMCA.
