The global YMCA movement is at work in more than 120 countries and serves the diverse needs of 45 million people. In many communities around the world, YMCAs are the driving force for positive change in difficult social, economic and political situations. Every year, YMCA of the USA coordinates the YMCA World Service campaign to raise awareness of and financial support for the powerful work of YMCAs worldwide. Our Commitment to You

At least 90 cents of every dollar contributed to World Service goes directly to fund vital YMCA programming with the remainder supporting administration costs. Funded programs are approved by the International Committee of the YMCA of the USA’s Board of Directors. Grants are managed by members of the YMCA of USA International Group who have a proven track record in international development, in-depth knowledge of each region's history, an understanding of current needs and trusted relationships with local leaders. Over the last decade, YMCA of the USA has managed an international grant portfolio in excess of $57 million.

Join the Campaign

The YMCA World Service campaign receives contributions from YMCAs in the United States (as well as YMCA retirees, volunteers and national staff), individual donors, corporations and foundations. As a supporter, your impact is multiplied by the collective strength of the YMCA movement and our friends around the world who are working together to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

All YMCA World Service and other international contributions are administered by YMCA of the USA, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation chartered in the state of Illinois.
