How to Start a YMCA in the United States

The Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) is a charitable not-for-profit organization whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. YMCAs in the United States must be recognized as a member association in the National Council of Young Men's Christian Associations of the United States of America (YMCA of the USA), which charters and annually certifies local YMCAs based upon established certification standards for being a YMCA.
