How the Day Camp Experience Enriches our Children

As a mom, it can be extremely difficult to let go. However, one thing is inevitable—one day you’re going to have to let that baby bird leave the nest. One great way to give your kids greater independence and enrich their lives while keeping them close to home is allowing them to participate in a day camp.

Selecting the Right Summer Camp Program

It may not feel like it, but summer will be here before you know it. And for most parents, that means finding the best summer overnight camp or day camp program for your children. Summer camp is awesome; I attended quite a few in my pre-teen years. I gained confidence and character, made long lasting relationships, accomplished things I didn't think I could, stayed active physically and mentally, and created lifelong memories. However, all kids are different and careful thought and consideration should be taken to make sure they attend a camp that is the right fit.

Camp Counseling: So Much More than Just Fun and Games

It struck me during orientation how well prepared camp counselors are to enter the workforce. In just one week, camp counselors learn professionalism, collaboration, and responsibility. This personal and professional development does not happen in a strictly academic setting.

Synchronize Your Watches: It’s Flip-Flop Time!

We’re itching in our britches to leave school behind and get out into summer. Into the long summer afternoons when the days stretch into night and watermelon drips down our elbows. Tie up loose ends at school and get ready, it’s coming.
