My daughter turned six months old today and even though we are only halfway to twelve months, I already understand the meaning of the phrase, "the days are long, but the years are short.” I feel fortunate to be a work-at-home mom who is able to spend every day with my child, because even being so new to motherhood, I can confirm that it goes by extremely fast. more

Step Away from the Screen!

Last week was Screen-Free Week. I didn’t notice because my eyes were on the prize: Mother’s Day, the best day of all.

Now that the mommy merriment has simmered down, I’m catching up on other things discussed in Internetland, which (paradoxically) included Screen-Free Week.

Parents are forced to think about screens from the start. There are clear reasons to turn off screens. more
