YMCA Training and Development Overview

To serve 20.1 million members and more than 10,000 communities nationwide, the YMCA movement needs a big team. YMCAs are dedicated to the on-going training of full-time and part-time staff and volunteers. YMCA of the USA hosts an array of trainings, workshops and conferences for all levels of employees.

In addition to training, many YMCA staff are members of AYP, Association of YMCA Professionals, a professional network group for YMCA staff to enjoy fellowship with colleagues across the country in a non-working setting.

Also, the YMCA enjoys a special relationship with Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. The partnership between YMCA and Springfield College offers a broad range of educational programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels on the main campus in Springfield and college credit for select YMCA of the USA training courses. The college also provides educational opportunities for degree programs at a number of remote campuses around the country through the School of Human Services.
