Job Description:

The Bloomsburg Area YMCA is seeking a vibrant, energetic, and creative CEO who can build on the past, shape a culture of continuous improvement within the Y that best serves the community-at-large, and lead our Y in a fiscally sound manner that positions us for a strong future. You won't have to go it alone. We currently have a diversified and committed board, a dedicated staff of approximately 52 (including 5 full-time employees, approximately 47 part-time staff) both of which are dedicated to supporting a projected budget of $800K. You'll be well positioned to make an impact in our community.

The complexity of this position necessitates a person with a proven track record of sophisticated executive management that includes the ability to: share the Y story, cultivate relationships and seek collaborative opportunities within the community, raise contributed support (annual, capital and endowment), work with a Y board that focuses on strategic issues rather than operational issues, successfully promote the Y's cause and charitable purpose to the community, develop and lead staff, and execute solid program development and innovation. This individual should possess strong relationship-building skills and be experienced in using today's technology to increase the Y's community presence both on- and offline. Our next leader must possess the capacity to not only embrace change, but lead it. The future of the Bloomsburg Area Y is a bright one a future to be led by a visionary capable of both steadfast dedication to the three pillars of the Y and nimble action that seizes each appropriate opportunity that is presented. These items are critical areas for the new CEO and to the Y's success.

Minimum Criteria for Candidates:

  1. Accredited 4-year college degree.
  2. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission.
  3. Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.
  4. Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships.
  5. Have the ability to develop new programs, review and enhance programs being offered or considered for both economy and the effectiveness in broadening our engagement in the communities in which we serve.
  6. Must have strong interpersonal and personnel management skills.

Preferred Criteria for Candidates:

  1. YMCA Organizational Leader Certification.
  2. Fiscally sound business management approach.
  3. Strategic planning and Fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants.
  4. Success in providing leadership in membership and program development.
  5. A proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management in excess of $500,000 or more annually.

Salary: $55,000 - $70,000

Additional Compensation Details:

Retirement contribution (Shared Plan: 5% YMCA/3% employee), vacation plan, and other benefits per personnel policy included.
