The Gymnastics Director is responsible for all gymnastic programming as well as gymnastic programming for Summer School Age Child Care. This position also manages some special events
Know How: Prefer 4 year degree or equivalent work/coaching experience. Prefer minimum experience of three (3) years in upper level team coaching and gymnastics instruction. Prefer knowledge of physiology, biomechanics, and strength training for effective gymnastic skill development. Ability to prepare, monitor and control budgets. Must be able to communicate well with others, be a team player and have good leadership skills. Must have experience recruiting, training and evaluating staff; demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities; experience instructing children ages 3-18 years and safely spot preschool, recreational and competitive gymnasts. Demonstrate professionalism and ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and technically competent manner. Experience supervising and directing all gymnastics training areas.
Principle Activities: Recruit, orient, supervise, train, evaluate and reward staff and volunteers in the Gymnastics, and Cheerleading programs. Instruct recreational, preschool, pre-team, tumbling and competitive team levels. Planning and scheduling of all logistics for home and away gymnastics meets. Provide placement testing for students within the gymnastics program. Promote the YMCA facilities and programs. Prepare lesson plans for all gymnastics. Monitor and enforce all safety-related issues in the gymnastics center. Attend gymnastics meets while representing the YMCA in a professional manner.
Salary: $28,000 - $32,000
Additional Compensation Details:12% YMCA Retirement, full medical insurance, short and long term disability as well as life insurance provided.
