YMCA: Camp Jorn YMCA Inc.

Location: Manitowish Waters, WI

Job Description:

Camp Jorn seeks to be a premier independent YMCA camp with strong camper enrollment, retention and a positive impact on the lives of children, staff and participants that it serves.

Candidates must have a solid business acumen, sound judgment, and exceptional leadership skills.In addition, they must have a proven track record that demonstrates an ability to successfully implement and promote the camp's services and activities to the broader camp community, assess the camp's physical and program needs, develop new camp programs, raise funds through annual and capital campaigns, develop and manage a diverse staff, work with a YMCA board that focuses on strategic issues rather than operational issues and connect and build relationships among the camp's alumni. Solid program development and innovation are critical areas for the new Executive Director and to the camp's success.

Minimum Criteria for Candidates:

  1. Accredited 4-year college degree.
  2. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission.
  3. Minimum three years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.
  4. Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community/camp relationships.
  5. Have the ability to critically review, develop and enhance the programs being offered to effectively broaden our engagement in the communities in which we serve.

Preferred Criteria for Candidates:

  1. YMCA Organizational Leader Certification. (If this is not currently possessed, the Executive Director is required to obtain this within 3 years of hire date.)
  2. Fiscally sound business management approach.
  3. Strategic planning and Fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants.
  4. A proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management in excess of $300,000 or more annually.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000

Additional Compensation Details:

Benefits: As noted in the personnel policy. Housing on site is an option.
