YMCA: YMCA of Pomona Valley

Location: Pomona, CA

Job Description:

Position Description and Board Expectations:

The YMCA of Pomona Valley board and staff are looking for a new CEO to continue to lead the Y's work in serving its community. The current CEO is retiring after 7 years of successful professional leadership. The Y is financially healthy and has developed many successful community collaborations on which to build upon.

The new CEO is expected to become the face of the Y in the community, being an advocate for the Y and establishing relationships with key stakeholders and major donors. The CEO is expected to maintain and expand community collaborations and relationships that are critical to the Y's on-going success. At the same time, the new CEO will also need to be a strong operator - developing an effective staff team and overseeing operations in 4 different branch locations and 4 after school sites.

Continued and improved financial development is another key expectation of the new CEO. The new CEO will need to analyze the Y's current financial development practices and establish a plan for improvement. The Y has a new 20,000 sq. ft. leased facility that offers opportunities for membership growth. The new CEO is expected to gain an understanding of the community and the external factors impacting the Y and then develop a plan to increase membership to better serve the community. In addition, the new CEO is expected to be a strong fiscal manager. The Y's current financial health is based on good professional stewardship and that will need to continue.

The new CEO will also need to form a strong strategic partnership with the board of directors. Together with the board, the new CEO will need to create a vision for what the Y can be throughout the Pomona Valley and implement that vision.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a Y that is good and make it even better.
