YMCA: Caldwell Branch YMCA

Job Description:

General Information:

Join the leadership team at an innovative and growing YMCA Association. The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is currently a $19 million operation, serving more than 57,000 members with four facility branches, a brand new 400+ acre resident camp, 16+ child care locations and youth programs offered at over 100 locations throughout the community. Our YMCA provides critical services to the community as well as serving the National Y movement by fulfilling roles as a Training Partner YMCA and National Resource Partner. The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is looking for exceptional candidates to fill an opening for a Branch Executive Director at the Caldwell Family Y. The Caldwell branch currently has 16,000 members and is a Movement leader in programs including LiveStrong, Make a Splash, Salsa Salud y Sabor, and the P-16 education project. Our youth sustaining campaign is a key priority and in 2012 our branch staff and volunteers raised $175,000. We have 14 full-time staff and over 180 part-time staff, with an overall budget of $4.3M. This facility was the result of many years of community dreaming and planning. It opened in 2005 and its 81,000 square feet include a basketball/volleyball gymnasium, fitness floor, multiple group exercise rooms, youth centers, and aquatics center with lap pool, recreational pool, beach, splash pad, lazy river, and two waterslides.

Community:

Caldwell is a charming city located West of Boise; nestled at the foot of the Owyhee Mountains. Caldwell has many vineyards and beautiful farm lands, all while being miles away from the heart of Boise. The community represents close to 60% of ethnically diverse people, while sustaining a younger demographic of which 20% sit at or below the poverty line. Caldwell continues to see large amounts of growth and maintains a close-knit, rural charm. The Caldwell Y is a beacon of partnership for the community.

Job Requirements:
  • Ideal candidates will have a strong track record of YMCA experience including fundraising, leading multiple program areas and/or membership; hiring, directing, and motivating staff; building relationships with members, volunteers, and community leaders, and developing and adhering to a budget.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations and bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Provides staff leadership for annual support campaign.
  • Hold residence in Caldwell is preferred.
  • Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
  • Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Oversees the maintenance of facilities of the branch to assure high standards of maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and to assure that the requirements of regulatory codes are met.
  • Serves as a member of the Association Leadership team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.

Salary: $57,575 - $71,947
