Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Description:

We are seeking a person who has the leadership, interpersonal, business and operations know how to fully embrace this opportunity. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the operations of these three unique locations. What does that mean? For starters, you will ably apply your people, fiscal and operations management skills to drive membership growth. Since each branch has its own identity, part of your job will be to uncover ways to make that entity shine. Imagine a typical day might include this scenario at the YMCA..

Upon entering the branch, you greet the front desk staff and receive an update on the branch status. They inform you of HVAC and flooring issues that require your attention. You make your way to your office, unload your gym bag and proceed to contact the appropriate vendors to ensure these matters are resolved quickly. Once that's done, with clipboard in hand you make the rounds of the facility. On these daily expeditions, you keep an eye out for factors that impact cleanliness and overall facility maintenance. Your attention to detail includes interacting with members by taking the time to get a feel for their experience at your branch and encouraging their continued healthy habits. Safety and member satisfaction are of utmost concern.Once that's done, you're off to a staff meeting comprised of your HLS/Membership and Aquatics Program Leaders. You'll strategize on how to create, develop and implement programs that serve your constituency. Each program leader comes away with the understanding they will be accountable for setting program goals that are attainable, with a plan on how to do so. This is where your ability to manage through others to achieve desired results will prove most valuable. What a morning!

After a refreshing lunch, you return to the branch invigorated and ready to go! It's time to sit in on a Property Committee meeting to establish guidelines for the upcoming branch renovation. During this meeting you'll discuss facility improvements and calculate costs to ensure adherence to the established budget. With that in mind, you'll be asked to build and monitor each sites budget. Certainly your systems expertise and ability to analyze system data will be critical to accurate and timely reporting.

Before leaving for the day, you touch base with your supervisors to select and recognize an employee for their day's contribution. You present the employee with movie tickets and thank them in the presence of their peers. Now it's time to head towards the locker room to dress for your cardio class which begins in 15 minutes.
