Job Description:

The overall responsibilities of this position are to plan, implement and coordinate the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) after school program at a local elementary school ensuring program compliance with applicable policies and procedures. The Coordinator will be responsible for program design and implementation, recruitment of students and staff, coordination with school-day curriculum, transportation, collects and input data and performing related work as required. Some weekends/evenings may be required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Child Development, Elementary Education or related field
  • Experience in youth programming preferably in a school setting
  • Ability to communicate with different audiences including school administration, teachers, parents, students and community members
  • Understanding of Indiana Common Core Standards and experience providing educational enrichment services to youth

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise, plan, and implement activities that will accomplish all of 21st CCLC program goals and objectives
  • Develop focused, creative and interactive academic and enrichment programs to be delivered during the out-of-school time.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with the school and community organizations.
  • In collaboration with the Advisory Committee, identify the needs of the school and develop a plan to meet needs
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Plan and implement family night, parental involvement activities, community celebrations, and student showcases
  • Establish clear behavior expectations for program participants and ensure that they are fully established throughout the program
  • Maintain regular contact with key school administration personnel and teachers to support program alignment with school day activities
  • Ensure the collection of quality data including daily attendance, grades, and satisfaction surveys, needs assessments, etc.
  • Must be computer proficient using Microsoft Office software programs and previous experience with database software programs.
  • Coordinate the YMCA Summer Day Camp program.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Associate Executive Director

EFFECTS ON END RESULTS:

Success in this position will result in a quality program that meets all the goals set forth in the 21st CCLC Grant proposal.

Salary: $24,000 - $26,000
