Location: Jackson, MI

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Aquatics Director will be responsible for the safety, development, operation, and administration of the Aquatics Department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to prepare, monitor and control aquatics budget
  • Able to provide additional leadership to summer camp and after school adventurer
  • Demonstrates ability to develop short & long term plans with a high degree of quality, effectiveness and professionalism
  • Proven ability to take initiative, demonstrate good judgment and make decisions independently utilizing established policies
  • Responsible for all staff certifications in required areas and provide ongoing training throughout the year in Risk Management in the area of Aquatics
  • Oversee overall program implementation and development for the Aquatics Department

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or work experience equivalent
  • Minimum one year supervisory in aquatics
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience teaching swimming lessons, lifeguarding, or related experience
  • Lifeguard trainer desired
  • CPR/AED, First Aide, O2 from Red Cross or ASHI desired

Salary: $28,000 - $32,000

Medical Benefits Package, YMCA Retirement 12% after meeting minimum requirements and Life Insurance
