Job Description:

At the La Crosse Area Family YMCA, we believe that every child should know the life-saving skills of swimming and that every community resident should have the opportunity to experience the joy and well-being that water activities can bring. To accomplish this, our Aquatics Director will work side-by-side with their staff, their colleagues and our community to create a warm and welcoming pool environment for all; develop high quality programming; and establish partnerships with other areaorganizations with a focuson water safety education.

We are seeking a highly motivated, visionary team member who can lead our Aquatics Department at our Y-North Branch in Onalaskla, WI. Candidates for this position must have strong relationship building and communication skills, a passion for aquatics and water safety, and be highly innovative.

Job Responsibilities:

  • On a regular basis, engage in conversation with members and non-membersabout their YMCA experienceto establish long-lasting relationships.
  • Seek out infromation from members and non-members to ensure the aquatics department is meeting our community'sneeds.
  • Establish metrics with the help of the Director of Program Operations for assessment of programming and assure the collection, monitoring and analysis of the data.
  • Ensure risk management and safety policies are in place and implemented for all aquatic programming including equipment safety checks, emergency drills and in-service trainings.
  • Plan, develop and schedule mission-driven program offerings, within the framework of policies andprocedures established by the association.
  • Develop staff throughstructured training s that focus on safety, delivering quality programs, relationship building, and parent/participant engagement.
  • Work in collaboration withthe Aquatics Director at the YMCA-La Crosse Branch and the association's Head Swim Team Coach toensure consistency in programming and staff trianing.
  • Partner with local schools and other community organizations to offer community programming in our aquatics centers that alignwith the association's strategic plan.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required, up-to-date certifications in CPR Pro/AED/First Aid, Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor certificationsrequired.
  • Experience in pool operations, programming, supervision, and budgeting a plus.

Salary: $31,000 - $33,000

Additional Compensation Details:

Retirement: 12% paid by employer when eligibility requirements are met. Medical, Dental, Vision and Life insurance.
