YMCA: YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Job Description:

Fort Wayne is Indiana's second-largest city and is home to over 340,000 residents and nearly equidistant from Chicago, Cincinnati and Detroit.

The Youth Enrichment Director of the Renaissance Pointe YMCA develops, organizes and implements high quality child care programs. This includes Before and After School Programs, Summer and School Break Camps, Preschool Program, Teen Program, ChildWatch and the Computer Lab.

The Renaissance Pointe YMCA is located in southeast Fort Wayne, has a $1 million budget, and serves a membership of over 3600.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
  • Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
  • Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.

Qualified candidates must have Bachelor's degree in a related field, related experience and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Two plus years experience is preferred as a coordinator or supervisor of youth programs.

Salary: $28,000 - $35,000

Additional Compensation Details:

We offer competitive compensation and afull benefits package, including health and dental insurance, 12% employer funded retirement plan upon completion of 2 years of employment with a YMCA, long term disability and paid time off.
