ASSISTANT AQUATIC DIRECTOR YMCA: Hampshire Regional YMCA Location: Northampton, MA Job Description: The Hampshire Regional YMCA is seeking a team-oriented and motivated professional to assist Aquatics Director to develop, organize and implement high quality, member-focused YMCA aquatic programs. This is a full-time, exempt position. Primary responsibilities will include supervision of instructors, lifeguards and help with the swim lesson program. The Assistant Aquatic Director will be the Waterfront Director for our Summer Camp on Lake Norwich from June-August. They will oversee all the staff, campers, activities, equipment, and facilities at the waterfront area, including swimming lessons, boating activities and open swims. The Assistant Aquatic Director coordinates and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Job Qualifications: Minimum age of 21. ARC/ YMCA Lifeguard Certification and all related certifications. Within 60 days of hire, completion of New Employee Training, Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens. The candidate must be able to teach all ages and all abilities. Requires swimming and lifeguard certifications (YMCA preferred); strong desire to teach; and experience supervising other employees. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with emphasis on family member service. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Essential Functions:
