Job Description:

The YMCA of Greater New York reaches half a million New Yorkers through programs that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a can-do attitude. The Director will be responsible for planning and tracking IT projects and communicating status on progress. In addition, this position will manage and expedite completion of gear and software rollouts, and effectively communicate status to management and Branch staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed IT Project Plans including, scope, budget and change management for IT Projects. Budget Responsibility of up to $2,000,000 is of paramount importance.
  • Manage and oversee project scope/estimation activities, define impacted applications/user groups, document and review plans.
  • Hold project status meetings to review overall project status, risks and issues, action items, and assess progress as defined in the project schedule
  • Work with IT Director to ensure project specifications are aligned with Association Network and infrastructure requirements and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, especially in the areas of project management, and then support the development of new solutions and strategies.
  • Coach and develop team members in support of achieving the project objectives.
  • Analyze vendor and internal resource performance against assigned tasks.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor their progress and adherence to the contract.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience, supporting large teams of business, IT staff, and/or executive management.
  • Detail-oriented and motivated high achiever with ability to multi-task, commitment to producing high-quality work, and facility to learn complex material.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and interact with all levels.
  • Able to manage projects from inception to successful implementation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills a must.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
